Melanie has been active in residential real estate since 1984. She has worked as a Certified Residential Appraiser and is currently a Florida Licensed Real Estate Sales Agent. She speaks Spanish as a secondary language, having lived in Spain and worked in Mexico. Because Melanie loves the Emerald Coast and the water, she stays fit as a Master Swimmer and is locally involved as a Walton County Volunteer Beach Ambassador and She and her black Labrador Retriever, Lucy, enjoy serving the community as a Therapy Dog Team in the Bay Area.
She turned to swimming in 2005 when arthritis issues kept her from enjoying tennis and other sports. She found Masters Swimming which taught her technique, competition and a fun way to keep physically fit. She feels very fortunate to live on the Emerald Coast of Florida where the weather is nice most of the year and one can swim almost year-round outdoors. Plus, the sunshine gives her lots of vitamin D. The warm gulf waters are also amenable to open water swimming which she also does. The turquoise water is so clear she can see fishes and crabs and her fellow swimming buddies next to her to keep her on course. Like one of her friends said, “Salt water and chlorine cure everything!” Swimming on the Emerald Coast is like living in paradise.
Melanie strives to provide high standards through dedication to her clients, continuing education and utilizing new real estate technology.
